How much does a website cost for a small business in Mysore (Mysuru)?

The honest answer is “it depends”, but not in a vague way. The price comes down to a handful of parts, and once you know what they are, you can compare any quote, ours included, without guessing.
If you run a clinic, a shop, a homestay or a tuition centre in Mysore, you’ve probably been quoted very different prices for what sounds like the same website. That isn’t always someone overcharging. Usually the quotes include different things. Here’s how to break any quote down.
The two kinds of cost: building it and keeping it running
Every website has a one-time cost to design and build it, and a recurring cost to keep it online. Many quotes show only the first number. Before comparing, ask each provider what you’ll pay in year two, when the free extras have expired.
What you’re actually paying for
1. Domain name
Your address, such as yourclinic.in or yourshop.com. It’s renewed every year. Some providers include the first year and charge separately after that, so ask about the renewal price, not just the first-year price.
Also ask whose name the domain is registered in. It should be yours, or at least transferable to you, because it’s the one part of your website you can’t easily replace.
2. Hosting and security
Hosting is the server that delivers your site to visitors, and an SSL certificate gives you the padlock (https) in the browser. For a small business site, both should be routine. If hosting is quoted separately, check whether it renews at a higher rate after the first year.
3. Design and build
This is the biggest variable. A one-page site with your services, timings, photos and contact buttons is a very different job from a 20-page site with department pages, a gallery and downloadable forms. When comparing quotes, compare the number of pages and what goes on each one.
4. Content: words and photos
Someone has to write the text and gather the photos. If you do it yourself, it costs time. If the provider does it, it may cost money. Ask who writes the content, and whether there’s a Kannada version if your customers prefer it.
5. Updates after launch
Timings change, prices change, new photos arrive. This is where small businesses get surprised most often: some providers charge per edit, some include a few edits a year, and some include unlimited updates. A site that shows last year’s timings does more harm than good, so this matters more than it looks.
6. Extras
A business email (you@yourbusiness.com), online payments, booking calendars, logins and integrations with other software all add cost, sometimes in monthly licence fees. Many small businesses don’t need them on day one. A WhatsApp button and a call button already cover most enquiries.
Your main options
| Option | What it’s good for | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Do-it-yourself website builders | Full control if you enjoy tinkering | Monthly subscriptions, your own time, and design and speed are up to you |
| Freelancer | A personal relationship and flexible scope | Who updates the site, and what happens if the freelancer becomes unavailable |
| Agency | Larger or more complex projects | Longer timelines and higher one-time costs; check what support is included later |
| Managed plan (like WebPalz) | Business owners who want the site built and kept up to date for them | Read what the plan includes and what happens if you leave |
Questions to ask before you pay anyone
- What will I pay in year two, including domain and hosting renewals?
- Is the domain registered in my name? Can I take it with me if I leave?
- How many changes are included after launch, and how fast are they made?
- Does it work well on mobile? Can I see an example on my own phone?
- How much advance do you need, and when do I get to see the site?
What WebPalz charges
These are the prices on our pricing page, so you can compare them using the questions above:
- Instant Launch Pal: ₹4,999 a year including your own .com or .in domain, or ₹499 a month on a free yourbusiness.webpalz.com address.
- Growth Plan: ₹9,999 one-time setup plus ₹999 a month, for up to 20 pages with English and Kannada on every page, a business email on your domain, unlimited updates within 1 working day, and help with social media.
We ask for ₹0 advance. We build a live preview first, and you pay only if you want to keep it. Here’s how that works, step by step.
Our homepage also compares our prices with the agency and freelancer ranges we usually see quoted locally. Treat those as our own comparison, not an industry survey. The best check is to put any two quotes side by side and ask the five questions above.
So what should you budget?
Start from what your customers need to see. For most small businesses in Mysore, that’s what you do, when you’re open, where you are, a few photos, and a way to call or WhatsApp you. That fits comfortably in a small site. Add pages, languages and features when you have a reason to. Then pick a provider whose year-two cost and update terms you’re comfortable with.
If you want to see what your site would look like before deciding anything, ask us for a free preview. If you’d rather talk it through, we’re on WhatsApp in English and Kannada.
